Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Engraving from the University of Concepción.
Tomecino, currently a member of the Association of
Engravers of Biobio - Chile. Engraver, illustrator of the new Chilean graphic arts and art professor. In his works he rescues the culture and identity of our native peoples as well as contingent issues of our current society. The engraving techniques he uses most are woodcut and silkscreen, where the geometrical nature of the lines can be seen facing the sinuosity of forms both in the representation of the human figure and the landscape.
Illustration is an integral part of his work, integrating new technologies as tools to conceptualize the work.
He has received several awards and distinctions in the areas of engraving and painting in art competitions. He has printed the work of the renowned Chilean engraver Rafael Ampuero and has participated in seminars and art exhibitions with Santos Chávez and Julio Escámez.
