"Licarayén and Peripillán": Photograph taken in the Ensenada area, Puerto Varas commune, Los Lagos region. Licarayén is the name that the Mapuche-Huilliches gave to Lake LLanquihue which represents a beautiful princess in love with Quitralpi, a strong Toqui of the area. Peripillán, who represents the volcano, was envious of the couple's love and since time immemorial vomits smoke, fire and sulfur making the earth tremble reminding us of the strength of the volcano. This photograph attempts to account for the eternal relationship between lake and volcano.
